Poetry - Northbound Train

Amid a thousand shades of white,
I am going Home.
I travel far, by Foot, by Rail.
Onwards through the fields of snow.
Towards Home, I fly,
On a North Bound train.

On a North Bound train,
With cloud of steam so white.
Snowflakes past my window fly.
I am going Home.
My heart feels light as snow,
My mind, racing ahead on down the rail.

Happy child of Memory sliding down the rail,
To board the Polar Express named train.
North Pole, realm of Elves and Snow,
And Gentle Giant with beard so full and white
Who visits me within my Home,
And Reindeer who have learned to fly.

Oh! How my Spirits do now fly,
As I journey upon these rails.
Away too long, I am going Home
On a North Bound train.
From dreary Greys to purist White,
Trampled Slush to untouched Snow.

Carrot-Nosed Men and Angels made of snow.
Joyful voices towards the Heavens fly.
Moonlight, the Night, sparkling White.
Bells and Stockings hung upon the rail.
Laden Evergreen encircled with tiny Train.
Treasured memories of Home.

For too long been I away from home.
City’s burns soothed by touch of snow.
Onwards now! Make haste Oh you my train!
Towards Journey’s end I beg you now to Fly.
Onwards now! Towards final stop upon this rail.
Winter Delight, Oh Beautiful Sight, My Home covered in White.
